Teeth Whitening
What Is It: Teeth whitening is an in-office or at-home process using carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide to remove stains from the teeth to renew a youthful white tooth color.
Procedure Description: Our office uses three products to whiten teeth: Opalescence® GO, Opalescence® Boost and Opalescence® PF from Ultradent™.
The GO product is a prefabricated tray with either 10% or 15% hydrogen peroxide. Its ease of use makes it appealing. Wear time is about 30 minutes per tray.
The Boost option is an in-office treatment that utilizes 40% hydrogen peroxide. It boosts a smile to achieve a fast result. Treatment time is approximately one hour.
Lastly, the PF option is a bleach solution that is used in trays that we make to custom fit the patient. Utilizing carbamide peroxide, the strengths come in 10%, 15%, 20%, 35% and 45%. Wear time is generally from 30 minutes to 2 hours a day, depending on strength.
These trays can be reused to touch up a smile with bleach refills. See the Ultradent website to view products and specific information.
